I organized a trip with my meetup group last Sunday to travel the Cowboy Trail from Calgary down to Lundbreck Falls near the Crowsnest Pass in southern Alberta.  The reason I love this drive is for the scenery especially the mountains.   We travelled through Black Diamond stopping in Turner Valley and then down to Longview and picked up some beef jerky along the way.  Throughout the drive we would stop along the highway and grab mountain and prairie images.  We ended up stopping for awhile at Lundbreck Falls and then headed back to Black Diamond to Marv’s Diner for some burgers and shakes.  Here is one of my mountain images from that day.

  1. I love this road, Dave, hopefully the group found it a great route to travel. I drove it many times for the day job over the past few years. Whenever possible (not as often as I’d have liked), I’d leave a bit of slush time in my travel schedule so I could make a few photographs. Or even just park somewhere and watch the light on the scenery…
